Half Way Motel

Why do hotels/motels have ice machines? What do you use the ice for?

The only reason I can think of is to chill drinks, alcoholic or otherwise.

  1. Blue Balls
  2. That's exactly the reason. It keeps any drinks you have in the room cool that should say cool. It also helps keep foods cold if necessary.
  3. You have the answers.
  4. that's hilarious, you know Ive always wondered that myself, i think your probably right though, for drinks
  5. That's what its for.
  6. Yes, and to cool down 64 ounce bottled of soft drinks instead of getting ripped off by the coke machines! And to make lemonade and ice water. It's a nice way to have the food and snacks you want because you can chill the drinks ice cold. You can also dunk fruit and perishables in ice and they'll stay fresh for hours.
  7. You have selected the correct answer...yours
  8. I always traveled with and ice chest and the hotel's ice comes in handy when refilling it with fresh ice in the morning. Have to keep the beer cold.
  9. Yes, you are right. That is what they are used for. Or to keep the beer cold in the bathtub. My family used to travel a lot, and those machines came in handy to fill the arctic jug of water we always carried in the car. Some people carried coolers, and filled them, ignoring the big sign on the ice machine that said" Do not fill coolers." No plastic bottles of water in the old days.
  10. Well, when I have a chick tied up on the bed, I like to rub ice all over her body as she writhes in ecstacy.
  11. beer
  12. to throw at the people who use the ice machine when they use it at 2am and your room is located next to it
