Vacationing in Kentucky?
My family and I are taking a trip to a couple of places in Kentucky next week, but so far we have something to do only 2 and a half days of the 6 days we're going to be gone. Does anyone know of anything to do? This is what we have planned so far: Day 1: Louville Zoo then back home Day 2: Cub Run cave in the morning, then Kentucky down under for the rest of the day then travel down to Lost Cave and spend the night in a motel. Day 3: Do the Lost cave dealio in the morning, that's as far as we've got. Any suggestions appreciated.

- It doesn't sound like you're targeted on a particular area . . . a few things I'd suggest within 50 miles or so of the destinations you've already mentioned are: 1. Mammouth Cave -- if you've never been you really should go, it will put the other caves to shame. Mammouth Cave National Park also offers a lot of hiking (due to the heat this time of year I'd reccommend hiking early in the morning and then cooling off in a cave later in the day). 2. Bardstown, KY -- Check out the Jim Beam distillery among other things. http://www.bardstowntourism.com/main.htm 3. Barren River Lake -- Rent a pontoon and spend the day on the lake: http://parks.ky.gov/findparks/resortparks/br/ 4. Elizabethtown - http://www.touretown.com/ If you head back up towards Louisville -- they also have a lot to offer. The Louisville Slugger Museum, a neat river front, shopping, dining, ect.
