  1. Yes, you will be able to find listing of a variety of places to stay near Yosemite online, with prices to suit all. Prices for the lodge and so in within Yosemite may also be lower after Sept 1 - but reservations are still a good thing to get, especially if over a weekend.
  2. There are indeed many different motels near Yosemite. To name a few are Best Value, Mariposa Lodge, Comfort Inn, Days Inn, Tenaya Lodge, Oakhurst Lodge, and of course Yosemite Lodge inside Yosemite, and the beautiful Ahwahnee. Reservations are always a good idea, but not really necessary after September except for Yosemite Lodge and the Ahwahnee. Just one thing to know, September is a great time to visit Yosemite as the crowds thin out quite a bit, but the main waterfalls such as Yosemite falls and Bridalveil falls have dried up by September. You can still see falls though, but it requires a hike like to Vernal falls. The hike to Vernal falls to the viewing bridge is not too hard, but to the top of the falls is a little butt kicker.
  3. Type in yosmite.com , best site for all Yosmite questions. They have the price and specials for every motel near all entrance's to Yosemite and anything else you want to know.
