Half Way Motel

Need an easily accessible, cheap town/motel on the route from Hanover to NYC?

We are visiting Dartmouth the day we arrive from the West Coast and the starting out towards NYC that evening. Anyone have any suggestions of where to stay at the half way point?

1. It really depends upon when and where you need to be in NYC Northampton MA is really nice town that's about 90 minutes down I-91 from Hanover The disadvantage of using Northampton is that depending upon what time you have to be in NYC it's possible that you will run into AM traffic going South to Hartford and then West to Waterbury CT The other possibilty would be Danbury CT b/c it would put you within 90 minutes of being in Manhattan >assuming non rush hour traffic >and give you fairly reasonable motel rates at the same time
