How far in advance can you book a hotel room?

I'm looking at rates for a motel in Key west for a week in December, and everytime I try and check/book, it keeps saying there are no more rooms available. Is this just because they have not made them available for reservations yet? I find it hard to believe they would be sold out already.,

1. That depends on the hotel's booking system. Most allow a year. However sometimes they have rennovation plans that don't allow any booking. Call during the business day and get the full story.
2. Key west is a popular area to stay at a motel in, so it might be sold out. That is what I think is most likely, but who knows. I know that you can book certain hotels a year in advance.
