what is the cheapest way to take the family from OK to Pasadena to the Rose Parade 4 adults and 4 kids? Any good hotels/motels in NJ, DE, or MD that accept reservations from guests under 21? My boyfriend and I are both 20 (we won't be 21 until November) and we want to go somewhere for two nights (July 21st and 22nd). It's our first vacation together in our 2.5 years of going out but every hotel or motel we've looked at says it doesn't take reservations from anyone under 21. We were originally planning on Virginia Beach, but everywhere I e-mailed or checked their website (about 30 places) said we had to be 21. I know Wildwood, NJ has "senior week" and stuff and takes reservations from anyone over 18, but is that only during prom season? I e-mailed another 10 or 15 places in Wildwood about 4 days ago and NOBODY has gotten back to me yet. Do you know of any decent hotels near a beach that accept reservations from people under 21? We don't want to drag a 21 year old friend out with us just to get the room for us, they all have work or other commitments. We live right outside Philadelphia if that helps. And we're looking to spend under $130 or so per night if possible. I've been to Seaside Heights at least a thousand times with my mom and sister, so I'm really looking for something a little farther away. Motel charged me for canceling? The place was called Gold Trail Lodge in Placerville CA They had total vacancy ......Unauthorized credit charges. I made reservation at a Motel, when I called to cancel the lady on the phone Told me I could not cancel because I need to give her 72 hour notice. And that she Was going to charge me for the night. I told her that I was not told I would need to give 72 hours notice so I do not expect to pay. Her answer to was: “You didn’t ask” I told her that I am calling to cancel and she is not to run my card, there is no web site or anything that says that I will be charged for not giving notice. I told her I would dispute it and she went on and said very rudely, go ahead, and then starting to talk about something about buckets of water, that is when I hung up. She then called me back and told me that I shouldn’t hang up on her. I told her they was being very unprofessional and that again, please do not run my card. She said she was anyways. I called my credit card company who said it they already ran it and that I can only dispute it after it posts. Any advice on what to do about this? FYI: There is not information on cancellation, there was no email confirmation or anything sent to me.... NOTHING!

If you put a reservation on a motel room and you use your credit card to make sure they keep the room but they don't charge the card, IF a person who was with you decides they want the room and they call the Motel and tell them to put the room in their name will the Motel do that without the permission of the person who got the room?

I'm looking at rates for a motel in Key west for a week in December, and everytime I try and check/book, it keeps saying there are no more rooms available. How do you get discounts on hotels or car rentals? It seems everytime I try to get a hotel/motel room or rent a car the price is extreme. I don't like to be a slave to reservations and deposits because it complicates life if you need to change or cancel reservations. I find it hard to believe that working class people will spend more than 150 dollars a night a hotel and I don't like to spend more than 70 dollars a night but still I think that is extreme. Maybe corporate accounts get big discounts? I previously worked at Boeing and their corporate discount was only ten percent I think. And renting cars, that is obvious when they rob you. I always like to rent a towncar and I got them for as low as 65 bucks a day but other times they try to charge 120 bucks. I know it matters what day of the week you rent. Would you take a baby to a rock concert? My husband surprised me with Billy Joel tickets. We're going to be in that town anyway on other business and the timing was perfect, except that there's no possible to way to get a sitter for our 11 month old baby. We will be taking our four year old (I have slight reservations about that, but, hey, it's Billy Joel not Marilyn Manson). He said the seats are up high and at the edge of the section where we wouldn't have to climb over anybody. what should I expect from "free wireless Internet service"? I made reservations at a motel recently which advertised the above feature in its room. I instantly and instinctively assumed there would be a laptop/ keyboard waiting inside for me to use. Nothing of the sort. Although the clerk referred me to a close, off site internet cafe, I felt mislead and cheated. My boyfriend told me the room was merely "router compatible", that the motel grounds might have an "antenna" for a connection to a laptop that the customer brings with him; in short, he told me I misunderstood the language and that the motel really did deliver. I vigorously disagree and gave appropriate feedback to managment. As a comparison, if an airline says "service to city x", we assume they will provide the vehicle (airplane) to transport us there, right? Is this analogy faulty? Beyond this let-down, my stay was very adequate and enjoyable.

Minors staying in a motel? Me and some friends of mine (3 of us) are thinking about going on a trip this spring break (3/31-4/5) to visit the colleges we get into. Only one of us is 18 but we’re all pretty close to turning 18, 1-3 weeks after spring break. So would it be ok for the 18 year old to book the room and have us all stay in it? The room would be a double, so we’re not trying to squeeze everyone in or anything. From most of what I’ve read the problem seems to be minors checking in, but what does the rules say about an adult checking in and minors staying with him? Is the rule you have to be 18 or you have to be 21? And do you think we’d have to make reservations or just show up? Are credit cards a must? And what if he just checks in and we sneak into the room. Motel Room -- Underrage, but maybe with necessary means? My girlfriend and I are celebrating our one year this weekend. If you and your ex-spouse go on a road trip with the kids and get two motel rooms, who sleeps where? This was an issue tonight in the Motel 6 we're staying in. (We're in Central Florida to visit a family party tomorrow on my ex-wife's side, and we had both felt it was best that I came along to help supervise the kids considering some of the characters in her rednecky extended family.) Somehow, the reservation got all screwed up, and, while we did get two adjoining rooms, only one has two beds while the other has just a king bed. There were no other adjoining rooms left in this, uh, establishment. There's not event wi-fi -- I'm hooked up to a wire right now at what appears to be a desk of sorts. My ex-wife thought that it would be better for my son and daughter to have the room with two beds, and Claire and myself would have to share the king bed. My view was that the kids are both under 10 and under 90 pounds -- they'd definitely have enough separation in the one big bed. Or, Claire could share the king bed with our daughter. "That's not good for her emotional development," my wife said. So, after much whining from the kids and Claire, the kids have their own beds and room, and I will be joining Claire shortly in hers. Currently, she is flipping the channels on the PPV, laughing about some of the more adult titles, such as "Curious Amateurs: In Through the Out Door, vol. 3." Should I just have stayed in a third room? I mean, they're only $27.95 a night!
