What do you do when your mother is mentally-ill and homeless? My mentally-ill mom is finally homeless. Her mother died a few months back and now the money has run out. I don't know what the hell to do. The system in Texas sucks. She's been in and out of it my whole life. She will not take psychiatric medication, she calls it drug rape. She hasn't had a job in 15yrs. and I'm not sure that she could hold one down for to long. She's been kicked out of all the shelters because she's so difficult, I guess. She refuses to seek help through the well-fare system or disabilitity though if anyone needs it it's her. In the last 2 weeks I've spent almost $400 motel rooms and I can't keep doing that, I don't make enough to support her and there's no way I can let her live with me, can be very abusive. Won't ever go back to that hell. She's been coming up to my work every night to sleep in my truck but then after work I have to figure out where to take her. Getting to the point where I'm gonna ride a bike so I don't have to deal cuz I don't know what to do.

can I get lice from a motel? I stayed at a motel last night. I've stayed here before and I have a severe phobia of lice. I've read a horror story on how a couple stayed at a motel and ended up with a head full of lice. So the other time I stayed, afterwards I went to the doctor to be checked. I didn't have lice. Well I stayed at the same motel last night and the sheets seemed clean but I'm still paranoid... Have you ever found a syringe in your hotel room? I stayed the weekend at motel 6 in Salt Lake City, and found 3 loaded syringes in my room on the final night. One was located on the floor behind the door. I complained to management and they only offered to refund the final night. That means I slept 4 nights in a hotel room with syringes. Who knows what was in the syringes, and who knows if there were more. What if they were in my bed? What if my 5 year old nephew found them before I did? I think it is totally unacceptable, and at the very least should receive a full refund for the entire 4 night stay. What should I do? Can I contest the charges on my credit card bill? I filed a complaint with the area office, but they didn't seem to think it was a big deal. Am I responsible for searching my room for syringes when I check into a hotel?

With summer in full swing, I was wondering...How does one keep safe, health wise, while traveling? I vaguely remember a investigative report on the dangers of staying in hotels/motels. Things like personal safety and keeping valuables safe seem pretty straight forward. But this was dealing with things like body lice from the bedding, a meth lab, bodily fluids... I remember a hotel in Vegas where many of the guests needed to be treated for crabs (luckily it wasn't me), a few years ago. It was caused by the bedding when the maids came around. Without having to bring everything with you from home, how can you keep yourself safe?

How should I deal with a new trainee who used to sleep with my boyfriend before I knew him? I started training a new woman for front desk as I am the front desk manager for a motel. How can i handle a Minor in possession and Minor Consumption?? Ok this is the deal. I was asked to pick a friend up at a motel. So I went to pick him up. I went inside and he was not there so i went back outside. When I came out of the door there was a group of Police on there way to that room. I did not have a beer or anything in hand. I was asked if i had been drinking and said no. I didnt get a sobriety test or breathorliser. Needless to say the police officer gave me a citation for MIP and MIC. Because I had access to the beer. is it illegal to refuse rental to someone becuase they are minors? Im a property manager at a Motel, and i ask this question because i know that years ago a minor walked into a a few motels/hotels in san Diego and was turned away because she was a minor. She had money to pay for a motel room, but no one rented to her. The end result ended in her staying on the streets and being raped and murdered. This was about 10 years ago, and i never found out what became of it, if any laws were changed, and i was a desk clerk at the time. From that day forward, the owners told us that we could not refuse to rent to anyone who had means to pay. Now as a Manager i wonder if i could be held liable if i turned away a minor, and as a result he or she slept on the streets and got hurt or something. Does any one know the real deal?

My friend has kittens and small children with roach promblem? My friend has been dealing with a roach promblem for several months now. I have suggested roach spray, roach motels, and roach bombs. She has tried all of these things and all though they do help they do not cure the promblem completely. I don't know what else to suggest other than calling an exterminator ( which is costly) I thought maybe someone has dealt with something like this and could offer some advice. To add........ The main reason why she is having a roach promblem is because she lives in a neighbor hood where her nieghbor's house is very close to hers. From what she knows of her nieghbors they don't keep their place the cleanest and this may be why the roaches continue to return. My friend also has kittens and small children so what ever is used in the home needs to be safe for children and animals. Any serious advice would be appreciated.

My wife met another man on Adult friend finders. I found out and confronted her in front of a motel ...? I found her before they went in. She says she wants to make things work with me and I know I have not been a perfect husband. can a hotel/motel ban gays from thier establishment? this occured in Houston, Tx. my boyfriend and i needed a room for the night, we passed by a place, looked clean, so we stopped in and got a room. my BF went in and handled the deal while i waited in the car, he did tell the clerk that the room was for two people. we werent in the room for 5 minutes when that asshole banged on the door and said "room for man and wife only" and said one of us had to leave. he then offered us a room with 2 beds for $10 more. i demanded our money back and eventually got it. this reeks of discrimination to me. i later find out that this place rents rooms by the hour also, so obviously they have no problem with "man and whore" or a drug user renting a room, but when 2 guys want a room its for "man and wife" only. would we have any legal recourse against these people?

Im staying at a cheap, somewhat dingy motel in PCB.. i have a question about reservations! PLEASE HELP!!!!? Im staying in Panama City next weekend for the 4th and they are totally booked up.. Im having to stay in a kinda dingy cheap hotel but thats not a problem. my question is.. someone else in my family is paying for the room (something thats not going on the trip) if i reserve the room with their credit card do i have to have the card present to check in? because i wont. what if i have a letter from them (notarized if i have to) that says i have authority to use it? or is it even going to be a big deal? our last names are the same.. if that matters
