Motels..............................................? ? Hey Im going to travel all around north america, im going to try to do it as cheaply as possible. Ever forth night im thinking (if i cant find a campsite) of staying in a motel for a shower and a good nights sleep. How much would a cheap Motel cost? Do you have to book them, or can i just turn up and ask for a room. Also any suggestions on how to get a shower when im not in a motel? And any suggestions on where to sleep in my car for free. so far ive got campsites, Walmart 24 hour parking, driving out of town and sleeping in my car, and i cant think of much more.

Are motels required to offer you a lower rate if the price drops after booking? I just found out that the price dropped on my motel reservation for tomorrow. I called to ask if they could drop the price, but they said since I booked through their website, I had to do it through the website. Then they hung up on me. Conveniently, there is no way to change a reservation through the website if check-in is within 48 hours. Should I go in and argue, or do they have the legal right to charge me the original price?
